Neuro Talk Kick-Off: Empowering Barangay Napindan with Life-Saving Knowledge
On March 27, 2025, Parañaque Doctors Hospital (PDH) took an important step toward community health empowerment with the Kick-Off: Neuro
For Jennifer Danao, January 2025 was a time of worry, uncertainty, and ultimately, gratitude. It was a challenging period in her life, but one marked by the dedication and expertise of the medical professionals who saved her six-year-old son, Lucio Tio.
A Sudden Illness
Lucio was a lively and energetic child, always full of laughter and play. But when he suddenly developed a high fever, excruciating stomach pain, and relentless vomiting, Jennifer’s heart filled with fear. At first, she had hoped that it was just a passing illness, but as the pain in her son’s eyes deepened, she knew this was something far more serious. Panic turned into determination—she had to find the best possible care to save Lucio.
The Decision to Transfer to Parañaque Doctors Hospital
Among the hospitals, Jennifer chose Parañaque Doctors Hospital (PDH). Its Level 2 classification meant it had the necessary facilities and medical expertise for the procedure.
Additionally, it was only 30 minutes away and provided quality medical care at a more reasonable cost compared to her other options.
On January 21, 2025, Jennifer and Lucio arrived at PDH’s Emergency Room. The medical team immediately assessed Lucio’s condition and scheduled surgery on the same day.
Immediate Care and Expert Treatment
The PDH team of Professionals worked diligently to treat Lucio’s ruptured appendix. He was diagnosed with Generalized Peritonitis Secondary to Ruptured Appendicitis, a serious condition that, if left untreated, could have had life-threatening consequences.
Jennifer described the moments leading up to the surgery as overwhelming, but the PDH medical staff provided comfort and reassurance.
“The doctors, nurses, and staff were friendly, accommodating, and guided me through every step. From the time we arrived at the ER to the moment we were discharged, I felt assured that Lucio was in good hands,” she shared.
A Successful Recovery
The operation was successful. After five days of careful monitoring and continuous support from the PDH medical team, Lucio was discharged on January 26, 2025. Jennifer expressed deep gratitude, not only for the excellent medical treatment but also for the compassion and dedication shown by the hospital staff. “The doctors, nurses, and staff treated us greatly. The service was fast, and we never felt neglected. What I appreciated most about PDH was the genuine care they provided,” she said.
A Message of Gratitude
Now back home and fully recovered, Lucio is once again an active and happy child. Jennifer has no suggestions for improvement, only heartfelt appreciation for the team that saved her son’s life.
“To the entire PDH team, especially the doctors, thank you for everything. You gave my son another chance at life. To other parents and patients, know that at PDH, you and your loved ones will always receive the best care you deserve.” – Jennifer Danao
In times of medical emergencies, Parañaque Doctors Hospital remains a beacon of hope— providing expert care with compassion and dedication.
